Lille
LILLE , THE YOUNGEST FRENCH METROPOLIS
With 500 000 inhabitants (more than 1 million if we include the suburbs), Lille is the biggest city in the north of Paris. Located in the heart of western Europe, it is said to be one of the most dynamic place in France. Evolving day after day, the flamish capital is now considered as a regional and a european metropolis. This unavoidable crossroad easily opens up to you, thanks you its rich cultural life and its dozens of pubs or clubs ready to welcome you through the night.

How to reach Lille ?
Concerning the transport, it is almost faster to get Lille than Paris when you are in the airport Roissy-Charles De Gaulle (50 minutes by train !)
Lille is also very close to other important european cities : * 2 hours to get London, * 30 minutes to get Brussels In the metropolis, you can go wherever you want, benefiting from the bus, the tram or the subway (the first automatic one in the world)
The University
The university of Lille 2 is one the biggest university in France (more than 24 000 students). The geographic situation of Lille is a real asset for the city to receive many students, not only from Europe (Germany, UK, the Netherlands, Sweden...) but also from all the continents (China, Lebanon, Cameroun, Morocco, Canada ...) The faculty of medecine H. Warembourg was built in 1997 and welcomes 5 000 students a day. Library, free access to the web, student associations... you cannot except more when you are student. SCOPE has existed in Lille since 2002 ; for 4 years, 38 students have been welcomed.
Hospitals
The CHRU (“regional and universitary hospital center”) of Lille allows you to benefit from clerkships in all departments, excepted emergency and psychatry. You can go in one of the 5 hospitals located just next to the faculty ( Hopital Huriez, Hopital Salengro, Hopital Cardiologique, Hopital Calmette, Hopital Jeanne De Flandres).
March, April, July, August, October and November are the opened month for clinical clerkships in Lille.
